Students may tell you their level is this or that… although it is very difficult to assess one’s own level when one is not an English teaching professional… hence the need for a thorough audit of the level, needs and objectives…

This audit will not only assess the level of the students but also their needs in each of the four skills of Written Comprehension and Expression, Oral Expression and Listening Comprehension in turn and in detail but also etch out a thread to follow so as to achieve the students’ objectives… the audit is indeed a mean to an end…
The audit will define what needs to be done during the English course and in how much depth each part and skill needs to be worked…

If you are using my Business English Test, you need to ask to either do the first part 30 minutes test) or both the first and second parts (60 minutes test)… or let them decided how long and how much they can do…
When the students hand in their completed test, the English teacher will ask them to read what is written and printed on their test sheet… this will enable the teacher to check on the students’ skills and level of understanding, phonetics and Reading Comprehension as well as Oral Expression all in one !
The teacher will make all the necessary corrections all through the reading and checking of the test and given all the necessary information to help the students understand the corrections where and when needed…
When the correction of the test is over and understood all that remains to be done is setting the objectives, the material(s) needed and the calendar for the course…

Once the teacher has assessed the level, need(s) and objective(s) he/she can gather the best book(s) or support teaching material(s) to be used during the English lesson(s) and how devise the lessons should be approached…
