The program is accessible through the library’s Online Resources section on their website. The language learning platform offers 30 languages for anyone from those wanting to improve their English to those wanting to learn another language for business and travel.
A two-year subscription to Rosetta Stone is priced at about $250 on the program’s website, but is free to access through the Jersey City Public Library and the N.J. State Library as part of their database subscriptions.
The 30 languages offered by Rosetta Stone are: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Dari, Dutch, English (American), English (British), Filipino (Tagalog), French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Pashto, Persian (Farsi), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), Swahili, Swedish, Turkish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
“Whether you access Rosetta Stone or other online library databases through Online Resources,” said Library Director Priscilla Gardner. “You are only a click away from Jersey City library services – for free.”
City residents can obtain a library card at the Main Library location at 472 Jersey Ave. or at any branch of the Jersey City Public Library.
